Open Data Inventory Index

Open Data Inventory Index

The ODIN (Open Data Inventory) Ranking is a global ranking system that evaluates the openness and accessibility of public data across countries. Created by the organization Open Data Watch, the ODIN Ranking assesses the availability and quality of open data across multiple sectors, including demographics, economy, environment, education, and health. It focuses on two main aspects:

  • Coverage: Evaluates the breadth of available data across various sectors.
  • Openness: Analyzes the accessibility of the data, considering factors like format, ease of access, and whether the data is free and reusable according to open data principles.

The ODIN Ranking helps governments understand the status of their public data systems and identify areas for improvement to promote transparency, support research, and strengthen citizen engagement.
